No chance with Unity! You can even change the entire game code and scripts without any “hacks”. The ease of turning around and delivering a garbage product into the App Store has made customers exceedingly weary of trusting content and making blind purchases. There are far better development solutions to help bring worlds to life in ways that wouldn’t help fuel the notion that it was amateur hour on the independent landscape.
But I don’t think cryengine will keep this edge over Unity for more than a few years.
If your game succeeds you already have everything in the right engine to make it a real AAA title over time Unity allows you to create any image effect you want if you have the skills. Additionally it supports interaction automatically which means creyngine waves by just walking into it, or shooting into it.
Also I think the AI will be static only prebaked since it would not make much sense otherwise, everything else in Unity is static either.
One problem is that Cryengine is very cryngine and it uses -it has to use skylight all the time, which means that everything gets rendered by that skylight impact.

This is something I have never seen before. That is quite funny because this very scene would already come in a range close to what Unity can do at all, but it is a god damn empty default scene in CE3.
In the end, it is a business decision. Which means UT can advertise them but then will again require a lot of work to get them working properly in productive environments I wont never need it for work, but it will be nice to check out.

Well I tutoriak there are plenty of threads about this. Also I have to correct my statement about these engines not being suitable for indies. But more importantly is what would lie in front of me when sticking with Unity: Unity doesn’t offer access to all layers you need for this and it doesn’t support any volume representations like the 3DTextures used for LPV’s on the shader side as well.
Well, i have rendered a lot more than 4 million polys already actually it was something like 15 million on 30fpsbut those are obviously no good tests.
